Older tracks: I don’t know how they could ever write a better song than this:

‘Love this Giant’ from David Byrne and St. Vincent, is an exciting collaboration. I have listened to Talking Heads since I was a kid. A great interview in Tape Op made me realize that David Byrne has only begin to tap his creative potential. He proved me right on this album sounding vibrant and youthful. Undoubtedly, Annie Clark brings out the best in David Byrne and vice versa. Plain and simple this collaboration is the coolest thing to ever happen. Before the rumor of this collaboration I would have sworn it was something that only existed in my dreams. I anticipated it so highly that I was worried it would never happen. Now that it is here, it is more enlightening and fun than I can handle. I had no idea I was going to be immersed in such a cultural cradle.
Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra and The Dap Kings provide a beautiful patchwork of horns so grandiose you feel like you’re at an Opera, blow your load. The tracks are still human, and funky, and weird, and yet so masterful. Questions of greed and corruption are overtly addressed with quirky cynicism. The best example of this is the track ‘I Should Watch TV’. The song discusses the metaphorical yet so biographical giant from the title and is the quintessential track on the album. “…Wanted to know what folks were thinking to understand the land I live in, and I would loose myself and it would set me free” -David Byrne
This band just signed to 4AD. They aren’t the first result on google when you search “indians Band”. The first hit is some other group with a lead singer that looks a bit like this guy, but I digress. I imagine that they will become the number one band with the name.
This session is neat. It was filmed in a day in different locations on a privately owned island in Essex called Osea Island. The track new was recorded in the early morning hours, I listened to it just about an hour ago the first time. It’s the small hours here, so I was tickled with the sense of baptism that the track is going for. I was meditating on their manipulation of moonlight.
Big Ups to BrooklynVegan, haha, I searched for this on SoundCloud of course she uploaded it 5 Months ago.
